Announcing the Launch of the Catholic Family Snailmail Club

From Lisa Davis, creator of “Feast Day Quick Takes”, and the Catholic Family Podcast on YouTube, comes a new way of learning about our beloved Catholic Faith – through the timeless joy of ink on paper.

Since emailing became popular in the 1990s, followed by smart phones and texting in the early 2000s, “hard copy” -- or paper -- communication hasn’t disappeared, of course, but it has definitely diminished.

Shutterfly conducted a poll that found that 54% of Americans regularly send greeting cards, but according to the Wall Street Journal, the iconic card company, American Greetings, is worth 65% less today than at its peak value in 1998!

But the snail is turning!

After recording its lowest earnings in 2018, American Greetings sales have grown steadily through the 2020s. According to business and marketing advisor, Brandon Gaille, there are more digital communication options than ever before, but the future of paper communication is looking up. “The one variable,” he writes, “which is difficult to predict for the industry is the Millennial shopper. Young Millennials especially, coming from homes that have incorporated high levels of technology, are sometimes placing more emphasis on handwritten messages.”
